Mount WachusettThe views from the Summit of Mt. Wachusett can be spectacular given it's central location in Massachusetts. The summit is easily accessible by car, and many pull-offs allow scenic views on the trip to the top. The mountain is a premier hawk-watching site, particularly during the migration in September. Glacial erratics can be seen, such as Balance Rock, where a glacier left two boulders stacked one on top of the other.
Mass Audubon's Wachusett Meadows lies at the base of the mountain, as does the Susan B. Mills Wildlife Sanctuary.
