NaumkeagOriginally the summer cottage of the Choate family, Naumkeag is famous for it's 8 acres of terraced gardens and landscaped grounds. Many of the garden is designed into separate "rooms" with various themes. Perhaps the most famous feature of the landscape is Steele's Blue Steps, a series of deep blue fountain pools flanked by four flights of stairs climbing up a gentle hillside and overhung by birch trees. The 44-room "cottage" is filled with original furniture and artwork. Surrounded by 40 acres of woodlands.

Notes & Comments
Beatiful location, though perhaps a bit small. Very close to the Berkshire Botanical Gardens.
