All about PhotoScenic Massachusetts

This list was started shortly after the purchase of a camera which sparked a desire to take some photos of the autumn colors in New England. The Mohawk Trail and the Kancamagus Highway immediately came to mind, but the thought of the throngs that descended upon these locations drove me to do some research. This research quickly led to a number of scenic locations and scenic views in New England. But these places seemed too mundane and generic - and they were probably filled with tourists, too. So the search went on, hours spent digging to find interesting locations in Massachusetts - scenic places which might be worth a photograph or two.

Many such locations where found.

By this time the list was fairly extensive, and the list of saved bookmarks was much, much longer. It was obvious that some organization was needed, and the list seemed worthy of sharing. So that's how this web site came about.

Hopefully you'll browse a bit and find some new places to visit. If a listing has incorrect or incomplete information please visit the Comments page and send an email. If you take some photos of a place and wish to share them, please visit the Photo Submissions page and send them here to get posted. If a scenic location was missed that you feel is worthwhile, please visit the Site Submissions page. I'll be happy to post a new site.

Warning: The places listed on this site are places that sound interesting or seem scenic to me in some way. I have a penchant for long views, gardens and landscaped grounds, wildlife, and natural locations with an element of interest thrown in. Massachusetts has a lot of hills and woodlands and such, but throw in a waterfall or abandoned building or even some old stone walls and the interest level grows.

While that's good enough for me you may find the same view boring. I may be wrong about some places - I haven't visited them all (yet). They may sound more scenic on paper than in real life. If so, please let me know by visiting the Comments page. Your comments will be posted for others to see.

Your mileage may vary. Use at your own risk.

Thanks for stopping by.
